Booking Terms & Conditions
These terms apply to every booking of tours, transfers, hotels, packages, gift vouchers and other travel services made with Paradise Getaways Pte Ltd (“Paradise Getaways”, “we”, “us”) through paradisegetawaysfiji.com, WhatsApp, Viber, WeChat, email, phone or in person. By paying a deposit or confirming a booking, you agree to these terms on behalf of yourself and everyone in your booking. Please read them before you pay. Questions? WhatsApp +679 872 1133 or email alvin@paradisegetawaysfiji.com.
1. Our role as booking agent
We arrange travel services provided by independent hotels, resorts, tour and cruise operators, airlines, boat and helicopter operators and transport companies (“suppliers”). Except for airport and road transfers we operate with our own vehicles and drivers, we act only as a booking agent for those suppliers. Your contract for each service is with the supplier who provides it, and the supplier’s own terms, safety rules, conditions and liability limits also apply. We will tell you about any supplier terms that matter for your booking, and you can ask us for a copy at any time.
2. How booking works
- You send an enquiry or request a booking.
- We check availability and send you a confirmation or quote with the price, inclusions and the terms that apply.
- Your booking is confirmed only when you have paid the deposit (or full amount) and we have sent you a booking reference.
- Check your confirmation straight away and tell us of any mistakes in names, dates or details within 48 hours. We are not responsible for losses caused by details you gave us that were wrong or that you did not correct.
If a supplier cannot accept the booking after you have paid, we will offer you an alternative or refund what you paid us for that service in full.
3. Prices
- Prices are in Fijian dollars (FJD) and include any applicable taxes, including VAT where it applies, unless we say otherwise. Amounts shown in other currencies are a guide only; you pay in the currency shown at checkout.
- Website prices are a guide, are subject to availability, and are confirmed only when we quote your dates. We may correct obvious errors in prices or descriptions; if an error affects a confirmed booking, you may accept the correct price or cancel for a full refund of what you paid us.
- Prices can change before your booking is confirmed because of supplier rate changes, fuel surcharges, government taxes or levies, or exchange rates. Once confirmed and paid in full, your price will not change except for new or increased government taxes or levies.
- Some charges are paid directly to the supplier, for example resort fees, island levies, fuel surcharges or optional extras. We will tell you about any we know of.
- Our Price Match Guarantee applies only on the terms on that page.
4. Deposits and payment
- Tours and transfers: a 20% deposit (minimum FJ$20) secures your booking. The balance is paid before travel or in Fiji, as shown on your confirmation.
- Hotels and packages: deposit and final payment dates depend on the hotel and are shown on your confirmation. Some special or non-refundable rates must be paid in full when booking.
- You can pay by PayPal (card or PayPal balance), Wise, Western Union, bank transfer, or in Fiji where agreed. Your bank, card or payment provider may charge its own fees, which are your responsibility.
- Deposits are non-refundable except as set out in section 5 and section 7.
- If the balance is not paid by the due date, we may cancel the booking and the cancellation charges below will apply.
- Please do not open a chargeback or payment dispute before contacting us. If one is opened for a service that was provided or cancelled under these terms, we may give your payment provider evidence of the booking and these terms.
5. Cancellations by you
- Transfers with our own vehicles: free cancellation up to 24 hours before pick-up. Cancellations within 24 hours, and no-shows, are charged in full.
- Tours, cruises, activities, hotels and packages: the supplier’s cancellation terms apply and are shown on your confirmation. Many tours charge 100% within 48–72 hours of departure, and non-refundable rates cannot be refunded.
- Cancellations must be made in writing by WhatsApp or email and take effect when we receive them.
- Refunds are made to the original payment method, less any non-refundable supplier charges and payment or bank fees we cannot recover. We aim to process refunds within 14 days of receiving the money back from the supplier.
- No refunds are given for unused services, missed pick-ups or departures, or for leaving a tour or stay early.
6. Changes by you
We will try to help with changes to dates, times or names, but changes depend on availability and the supplier’s terms. Price differences and supplier change fees may apply. A change to a different date may be treated as a cancellation and a new booking.
7. Changes and cancellations by us or suppliers
- Tours, boats, flights and activities can be changed, delayed or cancelled by the supplier because of weather, sea conditions, safety, minimum numbers, mechanical problems or other operational reasons. The captain, pilot or guide’s decision on safety is final.
- If a service is cancelled by us or the supplier and not replaced by a similar one you accept, you will receive a refund of what you paid us for that service.
- We are not responsible for costs that result from a change or cancellation, such as extra accommodation, meals, missed connections, or other travel costs, except where Fijian law requires it.
8. Events beyond our control
We and our suppliers are not liable for failure or delay caused by events beyond reasonable control, including cyclones, storms, floods, earthquakes, tsunamis, fire, epidemics or pandemics, government action or travel restrictions, strikes, civil unrest, airline or port closures, or utility failures. In these cases we will help you rebook where possible and pass on any refund or credit the supplier gives us, less costs we cannot recover.
9. Your responsibilities
- Give accurate details, including full names as in passports, ages, flight details, pick-up location, and any medical, mobility or dietary needs that may affect your booking.
- Be ready at the agreed pick-up point and time. Drivers will wait a reasonable time; missed services caused by late arrival are charged in full. If your flight is delayed, tell us as soon as you can.
- Follow the instructions of guides, crew and drivers. Some activities have age, health, weight, fitness, swimming or certification requirements, and suppliers may refuse anyone who does not meet them, or who is affected by alcohol or drugs, without refund.
- Children must be supervised by a responsible adult at all times.
- You are responsible for your own passports, visas, health requirements, and personal belongings.
- You are responsible for any damage you or your group cause to vehicles, boats or property.
10. Activities, health and safety
Water, adventure and island activities (including snorkelling, diving, swimming, boating, jet skiing, zipline, skydiving, helicopter and shark or marine-life encounters) carry risk of injury. You take part voluntarily and at your own risk, and you must tell the supplier about any medical condition before taking part. Suppliers may ask you to sign their own waiver or declaration. Marine life sightings, weather and sea conditions are never guaranteed.
11. Travel insurance
We strongly recommend comprehensive travel insurance covering cancellation, medical costs, evacuation, adventure activities and personal belongings from the time you book. We are not responsible for losses that insurance would normally cover.
12. Our liability
- We take reasonable care in choosing suppliers and arranging your booking. Suppliers are responsible for the services they provide and for the acts and omissions of their staff.
- To the extent allowed by law, our total liability for any claim relating to a booking is limited to the amount you paid us for that booking, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of enjoyment, or loss caused by you, a supplier or a third party.
- Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our own negligence, for fraud, or any rights you have under Fijian consumer protection law, including the Fijian Competition and Consumer Commission Act 2010, that cannot be excluded.
13. Photos, descriptions and reviews
Photos and descriptions on our website are provided in good faith from suppliers and other sources to show the type of experience; actual rooms, vessels, menus and conditions may differ. Guest reviews are published only with the guest’s permission and may be edited for length, but not to change their meaning.
14. Gift vouchers
- Vouchers are valid for 12 months from the date of issue unless the voucher states otherwise, and can be used towards any service we book.
- Vouchers are not refundable and cannot be exchanged for cash. Any unused balance stays on the voucher until it expires.
- Bookings made with a voucher follow these terms. Lost vouchers can be reissued if we can verify the purchase.
15. Privacy
We use your details to arrange your booking and share them with suppliers only as needed. See our Privacy Policy.
16. Complaints
If something is not right during your trip, please tell the supplier and us straight away (WhatsApp +679 872 1133) so we can try to fix it on the spot. Problems not raised at the time are much harder to resolve. Any complaint after travel should be sent in writing within 30 days of the service date.
17. General
- We may update these terms from time to time. The version on our website when you confirmed your booking applies to that booking.
- If any part of these terms is found invalid, the rest still applies.
- These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Fiji, and the courts of Fiji have jurisdiction over any dispute.
