A Fiji honeymoon on a budget
A Fiji honeymoon does not have to mean FJ$3,000 a night. Mix a value base on the mainland with one or two special days on the islands and you get the best of both.
1. Split your stay
Spend a few nights at a comfortable mainland hotel and then move to an island for the last part of your trip. Island resorts cost more and need boat transfers, so a shorter island stay saves money without losing the island experience.
| Stay | From (per room, per night) |
|---|---|
| Nalagi Hotel, Wailoaloa | about FJ$270 |
| Fiji Gateway Hotel, Nadi | about FJ$330 |
| Paradise Cove Resort, Yasawa Islands | about FJ$350 |
| Hilton Fiji Beach Resort, Denarau | about FJ$550 |
Rates vary by season and room type. Check your dates on our hotel search.
2. Do the islands as day trips
A day on Cloud 9 (from FJ$239) or a sailing cruise gives you turquoise water and a long lunch without paying island-resort rates.
3. Travel in the shoulder season
May, October and November usually bring better hotel rates than the July and September school holidays, and the weather is often still good. See our best time to visit guide.
4. Pick one splurge
Choose one moment to go all out: a couple of nights in an overwater bure at Likuliku Lagoon Resort, a helicopter flight over the reefs (from FJ$605 per person), or Cloud 9 all to yourselves.
5. Ask about honeymoon extras
Many resorts offer honeymoon touches such as flowers or a special dinner. When you book, tell us it is your honeymoon and we will ask what is available.
Our local team in Nadi confirms everything with the hotels and operators before you pay.
